| BLESS N° 21
Droog Design and Bless have agreed that they both choose a number of each others products and make an installation that is commenting the choice. Bless is designing a Bless Droog T-shirt that will provide the image on the exhibition poster. The poster itself has been designed by Droog.
Droog Design chose Bless products which are based on 'covering'. In conceptual respect the work of Droog and Bless is very close but on the level of execution it is very different. In general the work of Bless is much closer to art than the work of Droog Design.
Droog asked young Dutch fashion designer Connie Groenewegen to give a comment to the Bless products chosen by Droog. She followed the idea of 'covering' but with a different attitude. She puts an extra layer on the cloth that is covering some pieces of furniture. The result is a total neutralizing, the furniture does not exist anymore. However, the extra cover of Droog is not neutral at all. Connie Groenewegen is adding her personal touch. Her covers are bags in which you can hide. She wants to start with self-introspection before bringing things out.
The project has been carried out in cooperation with Guus Beumer in Amsterdam.
